The Challenges of Narnia

To reach the rank of Knight a member must complete seven tasks. Each of the tasks is based around one of the seven books of the Chronicles of Narnia. Tasks do not need to be completed in order. When a member wishes to attempt a challenge they must contact the High Commander and let them know of the attempt. The High Commander will make sure the challenge meets the spirit of the task and inform the member how to document the task. When the member has completed the challenge they should bring documentation to the High Commander, and the Council of Knights will vote on the success of the task.

Magician’s nephew:

To achieve the order of The Magician’s Nephew the member must perform a selfless act that benefits Narnia, Dagorhir or the community. This could include many things from building weapons for new people to use, assisting in the logistics of running events, running events, helping new folks with garb, and so on. To expand on this the member is allowed to contribute by helping the community. They could help at a shelter, clean up parks, and so on. Donating money to the group or to a charity does not count towards this order.

The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe:

To achieve the order of The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe the member must prove their ability to lead the unit in battle. The spirit of this challenge is a serious effort to lead the unit to the best of the person’s ability. Winning the battles is not required! Completing the challenge may take several battles fought over a period of time based on how the person is progressing. The member is expected to demonstrate the ability to speak publicly and to deliver orders while under pressure. They must demonstrate the ability to develop a plan before battle, organize that plan, and adapt the plan as needed. The member must also demonstrate the ability to organize the unit both on and off the field. The member must also have a working knowledge of the rules of Narnian combat and the unit’s basic battle plans.

A Horse and His Boy:

To achieve the order of A Horse and His Boy the member must work to bring new members to the ranks of Dagorhir. It is not required that new members join Narnia, only that they join Dagorhir. The spirit of this order is to get new, long term, members to join Dagorhir. This is achieved by helping new members make contact with units, guidance in attending events, answering questions, etc. The member does not lose credit for this challenge if the prospective member(s) fail to stay with Dagorhir. The spirit is the attempt to gain members only.

Prince Caspian:

To achieve the order of Prince Caspian the member must do three things. First, they must fight in a tourney. The tourney must include at least ten people; at least five of the people must be within a reasonable number of years of age compared to the member, and must include at least three people who are not members of Narnia. It is not required that the member win the tournament. Second, the member must serve as a Head Herald (running an event) or act as a team lead at a battle (head weapons check, head troll, etc.). It is the responsibility of the High Commander and Council of Knights to ensure that new members are provided an opportunity to run events and lead event teams. Third, the person must demonstrate a working knowledge of checking all weapons types and armor as well as lead or assist in weapons check at a battle..

The Voyage of the Dawn Treader:

To achieve the order of The Voyage of the Dawn Treader the member must travel to two separate chapters [not units] of Dagorhir not including their own. When they travel to the chapter they are required to fight. It is not required that the member completes this task in one trip. They may move on to another task and return to this one at any time.

The Silver Chair:

To achieve the order of The Silver Chair the member must actively assist in an official demo in the name of Dagorhir. Simply showing up and fighting does not count! The spirit of this challenge is an honest effort to add to the quality of a demo through direct assistance or by providing a tangible addition. Organizing and running a demo is the best example of how to achieve this order.

The Last Battle:

To achieve the order of The Last Battle the member must attend and fight at Ragnarok. The spirit of this challenge is that the member should fight in as many battles as possible! If the member fought at Ragnarok prior to joining Narnia they must attend again!
